The Augustines
Len and Sue Augustine
Len Augustine is the son of a Pennsylvania coal miner who died
of mine related tuberculosis when Len was only eight years old. His
mother believed that education was the way out of the coal mines and
worked diligently to send Len to college where he earned a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University. Len
knows what it is like to be poor and he understands the importance of
family.
Len and Sue Augustine returned to Vacaville after 28 years of military
service to enjoy their retired life. Their happily married sons, Mark and
Lennie, both graduated from Vacaville High School. Friends convinced Len
that he should be active in the community and he has done everything from
managing a little league baseball team to serving as Vacaville’s Vice
Mayor. He serves with integrity and strives for fairness in all his
decisions.
Interests
and hobbies: Travel, cooking, gardening, golf and other sports.
